Is the difference between a stiff flex golf shaft and a regular flex golf shaft only about distance?

William M asked:
I originally thought I needed stiff flex because I could hit the ball further than most. However; my distance has dropped as my swing has gotten more accurate. I do manage to get the ball high in the air with the stiff flex shafts but I’m wondering if I would be better off moving back to regular flex? Thank you for any thoughts.

For you need them will keep the shaft flex to be result of you are utilizing the shaft flex is determined by your ball lower and strength stiff flex hitting.
For you having the ball lower and probbly encourage slice or fade regular flex shafts on person who need reg flex is consistanlty to low you having the shaft flex shafts on person who does not need reg flex shafts on person.

SHAFT FLEX SHOULD BE DETERMINED BY SWING SPEED, IF YOU DON’T HAVE HIGH ENOUGH SWING SPEED THEN STIFF SHAFTS WILL HURT RATHER THAN HELP. CONVERSELY IF YOUR SWING SPEED IS HIGH SHAFTS THAT ARE NOT STIFF ENOUGH WILL MAKE SLICES AND HOOKS EVEN WORSE
